The Pulaski County High School Class of 1978 will have its 30-year reunion on Saturday, September 6th at the Pulaski County High School Cafeteria from
7 to 10pm.  Cost is $20 per person.  For more information, see www.classmates.com or www.reunion.com.     

            
  The CASA Pulaski Swing for Kids Charity Golf Scramble will be held Wednesday, September 10th at Eagles Nest Country Club.  Registration is at 11am, lunch will be at noon and the shotgun start will be at 1pm.  A 4-person team registration is $250.  For more information, call 606-365-0919.     

   
  
 The God’s Food Pantry Benefit dinner and Auctions will be held Saturday, September 13th at the Center for Rural Development beginning at 5pm. Reservations are required and tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple, corporate tables for 8 are $400 and church and non-profit organization tables for 8 are $225.  The 2nd Annual Veterans Recognition Party, sponsored by VNV Chapter of Central Kentucky, will be September 19th through 21st at the Pulaski County Fairgrounds.  Live music from Welfare Cadillac, a bike show, vendors, field events and more will be available.  For info, call Hoss at 502-229-8454.      


The 19th Annual Friends of Lake Cumberland Clean-Up will be held Saturday, September 20th to remove debris from the lake and shoreline.  Volunteers and concerned citizens are invited to help.  Participants should check in that day at
9am at Grider Hill Dock, Lake Cumberland State Dock Ramp, Conley Bottom Marina, Waitsboro Recreation Area, or General Burnside Island State Park.  For more information, call the US Army Corps of Engineers Resource Manager’s Office at 679-6337.   

The 2nd Annual CASA Autumn bash will be held Saturday, September 20th at Cedar Creek Vineyard in Somerset from 5 to 9pm.  A catered dinner, live entertainment with ‘Out of Order,’ wine tastings and a silent auction will be included.  Tickets are $50 per person and proceeds will benefit the local CASA program.  For tickets or information, call 606-365-0919.                             
 



Science Hill Bike Nite will be Saturday, September 13th in downtown Science Hill from 4 to 9pm.  There is no participation or admission charge and vendors are also welcome at no charge.  There will be live music from ‘Divided Highway’, games, food and bike activities.  The Pulaski County High School Class of 1988 will have its 10-year reunion on Saturday, October 25th.  For more information and to make reservations, call Melissa at 451-2510 by Wednesday, October 1st.     


Sunrise Manor will host at Tiny Miss Sunrise Pageant on Saturday, September 27th for girls ages 3 to 5.  Entry fee is $5 and prizes will be awarded to 1st through 4th places.  For more information, call Shaunah at 678-5104.      
 


Somernites Cruise Weekend is coming to Somerset!  The kick-off will be Friday, September 26th at the Tourism Welcome Center from noon to 2pm and the Block Party will be at Wal-Mart on Friday from 6 to 10pm.  On Saturday, September 27th, the Show & Shine will be in downtown Somerset from 2 to 8pm.  The vehicles will cruise out to Highway 27 at 8pm where various businesses will have activities.  For more information, visit www.somernitescruise.com .                                      
 

The Young Chamber Professionals of Lake Cumberland will host a corn hole tournament on Saturday, September 27th in the lot next to the old library downtown. Registration begins at 2:30pm and the tournament will start at 4:30pm.  Cost to play is $20 per team.

 The Pulaski County Public Library offers a free homework help online for grades 4 through college in math, social studies and language arts.  The service is available 7 days a week from 2 to 10pm.  Go to www.pulaskipubliclibrary.org and click on Homework Help.   
                         
Several dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are now available for adoption from the Pulaski County Animal Shelter.  If you are looking for a new pet, please check with the shelter.  You are the only hope these animals have for survival.  You can see all the animals available for adoption at   www.pulaskicountyanimalshelter.com  .   Call 679-6432 for information.

The Old Pisgah Schoolhouse Acoustic Jam is held every Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:30pm.  Bluegrass, folk and country musicians are welcome with their acoustic instruments. The Adanta Regional Prevention Center offers free classes for pregnant women throughout the 10-county Lake Cumberland area to focus on the dangers of drinking, smoking or using drugs during pregnancy.  For more information on the ‘For Baby’s Sake’ program, call Susan Bernardi at 679-9425.                                                     
Families Anonymous is a self-help, 12-step support group for parents, grandparents, relatives and friends who are concerned about and affected by the substance abuse or behavioral problems of a loved one.  Meetings are held each Tuesday at 8pm at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church at 206 West Columbia Street in Somerset.  For more information, call Jeannie at 679-5299 or Elton at 679-1421.
