Kentucky State Police are advising all commercial vehicle traffic to avoid the Gallatin County area, specifically Interstate 71, on June 29 and 30, 2012.

NASCAR will be hosting races at the Kentucky Speedway located in Sparta, June 28 - 30, 2012. A large traffic volume is expected in the Gallatin County area for the races held on June 29 and 30.

An alternate route has been established for commercial vehicles on June 29 and 30 to avoid congestion and delays on Interstate 71. Commercial vehicles in transit between Louisville and Cincinnati are advised to utilize Interstates 64 & 75.

Traffic traveling towards Louisville from Cincinnati: Travel I-75 to Lexington. At exit 118, merge onto I-64 west. Continue I-64 west to Louisville.

Traffic traveling towards Cincinnati from Louisville: Travel I-64 to Lexington. At exit 75, merge onto I-75 north.Continue I-75 north to Cincinnati.
