UK linebacker Bud Dupree sent out a twitter message Wednesday afternoon saying the hiring of D.J. Eliot as defensive coordinator is official.
UK is not expected to make any official announcements on assistant coaches today. Earlier this week, CoachingSearch.com reported Eliot had been hired by new UK coach Mark Stoops.
Eliot has coached with Stoops the last three seasons at Florida State serving as defensive ends coach. Before going to Tallahassee he was defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Rice.
