WKU Sophomore And Former Lady Warrior Danay Fothergill Plans To Transfer

Western Kentucky sophomore and former Southwestern Lady Warrior Danay Fothergill plans to transfer from the Lady Topper program.

Fothergill's father, Mark Fathergill, confirmed to the Daily News on Wednesday that the 5-foot-7-inch guard from Somerset has asked for her release, although it hasn't been completed yet by WKU.

Mark Fothergill declined to comment on the reason for his daughter's transfer before it's official, except to say she's "looking for a good fit."

WKU also declined to comment Wednesday.

Fothergill was averaging 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game for the Lady Toppers (10-2) this season. She played's played in every game and made one start, shooting 31.1 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from 3-point range.
