Canine fans will be a big part of the crowd as the Lexington Legends open a seven-game homestand Thursday, May 9 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Thursday is Bark in the Park night, presented by IncrediPet. The homestand also includes Thirsty Thursday, presented by Kentucky Ale, a Ford Fireworks show Saturday, a JIF Kids Club Sunday and regular weeknight discounts. In addition, the Legends will welcome baseball Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry to Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday, May 11.
The Legends, who are returning from a 6-1 road trip to Delmarva and Lakewood, will take on the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, in a four-game series beginning Thursday night. The Kannapolis Intimidators, who are affiliated with the Chicago White Sox, will come to town Monday for a three-game series.
“Our fans have had their eyes on this home stand since the schedule was first announced,” said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. “Bark in the Park is traditionally one of our biggest nights, and the first of the 2013 season promises to be a great time. We’re thrilled to welcome Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry on Saturday, and of course it only makes sense to cap off that huge night with a Ford Fireworks show. The home stand wraps with several kid and wallet-friendly promotions Sunday through Tuesday, leading up to our third and final Education Day on the 15th — quite a jam-packed week at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.”
