University of Louisville football junior defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin was involved in a moped accident on campus Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred near the school's Yum! Center training facility. Mauldin is currently alert and responsive and was taken to Jewish hospital for multiple tests. Additional information will be released as more information is gathered.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mauldin posted a career-high 22 tackles last season, including a team-high 4.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss.
Update on Defensive End Lorenzo Mauldin
All preliminary tests on Lorenzo Mauldin have come back good. He will be kept overnight in the hospital for continued observation and evaluation for precautionary reasons.
University of Louisville football defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin has been released from Jewish Hospital on Wednesday morning. All of the tests and evaluations continue to be positive. He has no serious orthopedic injuries and his game status will be evaluated over the next few days.
